Automatic Transfer Switch

ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) is a system that automatically switches the load to a backup power source when the main power source fails. Typically, the backup source is a diesel, gas, or gasoline generator, while the main power source is the centralized electrical grid.

An ATS cabinet is a separate electrical module that is manufactured taking into account:

1. the power of the power plant it will work with,

2. the speed of switching to backup power,

3. the required degree of power plant automation,

4. remote control capabilities,

5. individual technical features of the facility.

Operating principle of the ATS cabinet:

Network Monitoring The cabinet continuously monitors the state of the main network: voltage presence, frequency, and phase.

Fault Detection When voltage disappears or drops below acceptable values, the ATS commands the diesel generator to start.

Load Transfer After the generator starts and voltage parameters stabilize, the ATS automatically switches the load to backup power.

Return to Main Source When main power is restored, the ATS cabinet switches the load back after a certain time interval and stops the generator.

How to Reduce Generator Noise: effective ways to lower sound levels

A generator is a useful source of backup power, but its operation is often accompanied by significant noise. This is especially noticeable in private homes, construction sites, or when equipment is used near residential areas. If you are using industrial generators, the noise issue can be even more serious due to their higher power and […]

Three-Phase vs Single-Phase Generators: what is the difference

When choosing a backup power source, many buyers face the question: which generator is better — single-phase or three-phase? At first glance, the difference may seem purely technical, but the correct choice directly affects equipment stability, electrical safety, and generator efficiency. Today, generator equipment is widely used not only by industrial facilities but also by […]

Parallel Operation of Generators: when it is necessary

Modern businesses, manufacturing facilities, and critical infrastructure increasingly depend on stable power supply. Even a short-term power outage can lead to financial losses, equipment downtime, or the shutdown of important processes. That is why many companies use not one but several generators simultaneously. Parallel operation of generators makes it possible to create a more flexible, […]
